Notes:

1) Regarding abbreviations:

A) TLH stands for The Lutheran Hymnal (Lutheran Church Missouri-Synod)

B) ELH stands for Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary (Evangelical Lutheran Synod)

2) A sincere attempt has been made to select a distinctly Lutheran hymn (where possible) as the Chief Hymn for each Divine Service so as to provide the utmost in Sola Scriptura catechesis and proclamation for the established Gospel lection.

3) In a few of the Divine Services listed, only one hymnal is noted since the other hymnal does not contain an equivalent hymn. Please use the hymn from the appropriate hymnal listed as the Chief Hymn.

4) For each Divine Service listed, it is always wise to check the hymn in both hymnals due to the fact that in a few instances the hymn listed in one hymnal may not include all of the verses while in the other hymnal it does. It may also be wise to cross-reference the Evangelical Lutheran Hymn-Book which is the predecessor of The Lutheran Hymnal for hymn verses and translations.

5) This project is currently a work in progress; properly formatted sheets for this continuing project will soon be forthcoming. We may further develop this list to include:

A) Supportive/supplemental hymns for most of the Divine Services throughout the church year

B) Epistle lections for most of the Divine Services throughout the church year

C) Old Testament lections for most of the Divine Services throughout the church year

6) The Red Letter Inserts are days we either overlooked or intentionally did not take time to complete yet. They have been inserted for deliberation and possible inclusion. By completing them now, we will have them available for congregations who desire to make use of them.

7) It is obvious that there are a few extra inclusions under Additional Observances as these are observed on the Saint Timothy church year calendar; each congregation is encouraged to appropriately personalize their own church year calendar. Therefore, this material is made available to you in MSWord format.

ACLC Announcement

Remember when the Christian Church actually stood for something and did not fall for everything?

Remember when the Lutheran Church considered the Bible to be the inspired Word of God—without error, and accorded it such authority?

The Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches (ACLC) is a group of congregations and pastors scattered throughout the United States, which still takes God’s Word that seriously. The churches of the ACLC take God’s Word seriously when it says, “Thou shalt,” and “Thou shalt not.” The ACLC takes God’s Word seriously when it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). The ACLC also takes Christ seriously when He says “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33). As such, the congregations of the ACLC believe, teach, and confess that the Lutheran Confessions, as contained in The Book of Concord of 1580, is the correct interpretation and exposition of the Holy Scriptures. Concerning this, the ACLC believes that there is no room for compromise.

Why a new church body?

Historically, the major Lutheran synods in the United States have formed either along ethnic lines or by compromise of doctrine and practice. In our day, many think anything goes, and bureaucracies seek to preserve themselves rather than the congregations they are charged with serving. The Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches acknowledges the contribution of the various synods toward Confessional Lutheranism, but believes that Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions must be foremost in establishing unity and practice. One might say that the ACLC is a group that is unafraid of “getting back to the basics,” that is, getting back to the preaching of Law and Gospel —rightly divided— and the proper administration of the Sacraments. The congregations of the ACLC use the historic Lutheran Liturgy, follow the historic one-year lectionary, and sing hymns that are in the best tradition of Lutheran hymnody in their worship services. The ACLC has no bureaucracy and, therefore, there is no need for politicking within the ACLC. Like St. Paul, the pastors and members of the ACLC are “determined not to know anything among you except Christ Jesus, and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). More can be learned about The Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches at: http://TheACLC.org.

Christ Lutheran Church of Princeton, Minnesota, formerly known as Christ Lutheran Mission, is pleased to announce that it will be accepted into the Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches on Sunday, June 21, 2009. As we have in the past, we will continue to introduce people to Jesus, to preach the Gospel of Jesus, namely, the Good News of the free and full forgiveness of sins for Jesus sake, to the people of Princeton, all the while preaching and teaching the whole council of God. We still meet at the Princeton Depot, located at 101 S 10th Ave. Divine Service is at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings with Bible Class following. Come and join us. Walk with us and learn. We welcome you in the name of Christ our Savior.

MN North District LCMS Update

Christ Lutheran Mission, Princeton has received word from the Minnesota North District of the LCMS that our Constitution has been forwarded out of the constitution committee withe a positive recommendation to the Board of Directors of the MN North District along with our application for membership in the MN North District of the LCMS. The Board of Directors acknowledged our constitution is in agreement with the constitution of the LCMS however the Board of Directors declined Christ Lutheran Mission's application into the MN North District of the LCMS. The reason given was the unwillingness of the congregations of the Rum River Circuit to give Christ Lutheran Mission their blessings. We are examining our options at this time.
