Notes:

1) Regarding abbreviations:

A) TLH stands for The Lutheran Hymnal (Lutheran Church Missouri-Synod)

B) ELH stands for Evangelical Lutheran Hymnary (Evangelical Lutheran Synod)

2) A sincere attempt has been made to select a distinctly Lutheran hymn (where possible) as the Chief Hymn for each Divine Service so as to provide the utmost in Sola Scriptura catechesis and proclamation for the established Gospel lection.

3) In a few of the Divine Services listed, only one hymnal is noted since the other hymnal does not contain an equivalent hymn. Please use the hymn from the appropriate hymnal listed as the Chief Hymn.

4) For each Divine Service listed, it is always wise to check the hymn in both hymnals due to the fact that in a few instances the hymn listed in one hymnal may not include all of the verses while in the other hymnal it does. It may also be wise to cross-reference the Evangelical Lutheran Hymn-Book which is the predecessor of The Lutheran Hymnal for hymn verses and translations.

5) This project is currently a work in progress; properly formatted sheets for this continuing project will soon be forthcoming. We may further develop this list to include:

A) Supportive/supplemental hymns for most of the Divine Services throughout the church year

B) Epistle lections for most of the Divine Services throughout the church year

C) Old Testament lections for most of the Divine Services throughout the church year

6) The Red Letter Inserts are days we either overlooked or intentionally did not take time to complete yet. They have been inserted for deliberation and possible inclusion. By completing them now, we will have them available for congregations who desire to make use of them.

7) It is obvious that there are a few extra inclusions under Additional Observances as these are observed on the Saint Timothy church year calendar; each congregation is encouraged to appropriately personalize their own church year calendar. Therefore, this material is made available to you in MSWord format.
