ACLC Announcement

Remember when the Christian Church actually stood for something and did not fall for everything?

Remember when the Lutheran Church considered the Bible to be the inspired Word of God—without error, and accorded it such authority?

The Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches (ACLC) is a group of congregations and pastors scattered throughout the United States, which still takes God’s Word that seriously. The churches of the ACLC take God’s Word seriously when it says, “Thou shalt,” and “Thou shalt not.” The ACLC takes God’s Word seriously when it says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). The ACLC also takes Christ seriously when He says “Whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 10:32-33). As such, the congregations of the ACLC believe, teach, and confess that the Lutheran Confessions, as contained in The Book of Concord of 1580, is the correct interpretation and exposition of the Holy Scriptures. Concerning this, the ACLC believes that there is no room for compromise.

Why a new church body?

Historically, the major Lutheran synods in the United States have formed either along ethnic lines or by compromise of doctrine and practice. In our day, many think anything goes, and bureaucracies seek to preserve themselves rather than the congregations they are charged with serving. The Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches acknowledges the contribution of the various synods toward Confessional Lutheranism, but believes that Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions must be foremost in establishing unity and practice. One might say that the ACLC is a group that is unafraid of “getting back to the basics,” that is, getting back to the preaching of Law and Gospel —rightly divided— and the proper administration of the Sacraments. The congregations of the ACLC use the historic Lutheran Liturgy, follow the historic one-year lectionary, and sing hymns that are in the best tradition of Lutheran hymnody in their worship services. The ACLC has no bureaucracy and, therefore, there is no need for politicking within the ACLC. Like St. Paul, the pastors and members of the ACLC are “determined not to know anything among you except Christ Jesus, and Him crucified” (1 Corinthians 2:2). Christ Lutheran Church of Princeton, Minnesota, formerly known as Christ Lutheran Mission, is pleased to announce that it will be accepted into the Association of Confessional Lutheran Churches on Sunday, June 21, 2009. As we have in the past, we will continue to introduce people to Jesus, to preach the Gospel of Jesus, namely, the Good News of the free and full forgiveness of sins for Jesus sake, to the people of Princeton, all the while preaching and teaching the whole council of God. We still meet at the Princeton Depot, located at 101 S 10th Ave. Divine Service is at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings with Bible Class following. Come and join us. Walk with us and learn.
