why start another church in town - when they cant keep zion afloat?
Many years ago Zion should of relocated to where the population is. Zion can not properly service the city of Princeton. I do not think this is the death of Zion but I do believe that Zion needs to get out of survival mode and start reaching out. Zion has something to offer that most all of the congregations in the Rum River Circuit do not have. A confessional and orthodox pastor to shepherd the congregation. Be proud of that and proud to be Lutheran. The growth is coming to Princeton and to the township also. Zion needs to be ready for the growth when it comes. I believe the two congregations can work together to achieve that. I am a member of Zion and drive by several farms that are for sale to be subdivided into homes. This is not a competition but we need to all work together to get out God's Word and allow the Holy Ghost open the hearts of those ready to listen.
I Think we need to remeber who's church it is; ANSWER: GODS. Anonymous says why build another church when THEY can't keep Zion afloat. That is the wrong way to look at it. You need to do more then keep a church afloat,you need keep it ALIVE, so it will grow and prosper. I don't know if Anonomous was at the meeting held on Sunday the 15th of January, but there were answers to this very question. A new church in Princeton will not be the downfall to Zion. There are 8 quality characteristics to a Natural Church Development. Come to the Bible studies and learn. You can take your knowledge and put it to God's work at Zion or any other Church. A building does not make a church, God makes a church and HE is the foundation. Remember, there is only one way to heaven. John 3:16. Through Jesus Christ. And God's Great Commission shall be carried out if it is his will.
